I can’t believe I’m turning 30! I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for a birthday.

My husband recently made me aware that I’m also having a golden birthday this year, and I thought “How cool, how fitting!”

I never minded getting older. I don’t know what about turning 30 had always gotten me a little more excited than usual. Your 20s can be so confusing, messy, and chaotic. To me, turning 30 felt like the start of my villain era, whatever that’s supposed to mean.

I think, overall, I survived my 20s. I’ve had a lot of different experiences—a mixed bag—but oh, some great memories. 

I don’t have much planned to bring in this new year. I’m also very aware of how anti-climatic it all is going to be. At least, I can say I finally sat down and wrote a five-year plan.

What did you do for your 30th birthday? I’m thinking about staying at a hotel for some much needed me time, but I’m also on the fence.
