Soft Life Sunday: Date Night Outfit & a Sold-Out Show

Happy Sunday, friends

It’s been a cloudy weekend here in Indy—both literally and cosmically. Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are all retrograde right now, which might explain why this weekend felt like… a lot

Despite the heavy skies and with our never-ending to-do lists staring at us, my partner and I carved out time for something we both needed: laughter. And let me tell you—this Sunday delivered.

We got dressed up (yes, I finally wore my fancy leather pants + headwrap combo—because why not channel a little goddess energy on date night?) and made it to a live show of Josh Johnson’s The Flower Tour.

I laughed. I cried. I didn’t even realize how much I needed that. At some point, I just stopped wiping my tears away.

I’ve followed Josh on YouTube for a while now, so I just had to get tickets when I heard he’d be in town. The show sold out at Old National Centre, and while the seating was tighter than I expected, he was incredible as usual. And don’t even get me started on the dancers; there were no phones allowed during filming, but let’s just say: they ate. After the show, we took a short stroll to a Japanese restaurant downtown, E. Sushi, for a quick bite. If you’re in Indy and looking for a low-key, high-vibe place with mood lighting, chill music, and melt-in-your-mouth rolls—run, don’t walk. I had my first Appletini (a recommendation from our lovely waitress), and y’all…I get it now. Semi-sweet, crisp, and just the right amount of buzz to end the night on a high note.
A few reflections from this weekend:
  • You deserve joy, even when things feel heavy and out of whack
  • Firsts can be magical when you let them in
  • Sometimes, a good headwrap and an Appletini can shift your whole mood
From my heart to yours: I hope you find a moment this week that makes you laugh so hard that you snort. With love, Elle
